Annatto-GG™ 300 is a unique formula that delivers an impressive 300 mg of trans-geranylgeraniol (GG) per serving. Geranylgeraniol is found naturally in annatto, flaxseed, sunflower and olive oils, tomatoes, and select medicinal herbs. In healthy physiology, GG is synthesized endogenously; however, levels may not always be adequate to support the body’s needs. Synthesis of GG declines naturally with age and is inhibited by use of certain pharmaceutical drugs, particularly statins and bisphosphonates, potentially resulting in the need for supplementation. GG is essential for the synthesis of proteins, CoQ10, and other cell‑essential metabolites, as well as protein prenylation. GG is also required for proper cell growth, differentiation, survival, and apoptosis, healthy skin, and the conversion of all forms of vitamin K to vitamin K2, as MK‑4.
