Nutricology SĂ©curil is a novel formulation that contains a special type of probiotic bacteria found in food called Propionibacterium freudenreichii, which can simultaneously function as a prebiotic. Propionbacterium freudenreichii produces propionic acid, a natural biological acid that benefits bifidus flora. The human digestive tract contains a complex bacterial ecosystem. Some unpleasant symptoms such as heaviness, bloating, reduced bowel frequency and flatulence are often the result of disturbed intestinal flora. Securil supports the development of endogenous bifido bacteria for healthy gastrointestinal function. Intestinal flora are essential to good digestive function, including assimilation of essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids. Studies show that the bacteria in SécurilŸ survive and reproduce in the human gut, and that they significantly increase the levels of bifidobacteria and SCFA. PF produces a bifidogenic growth stimulator called 1,4-dihydroxy-2- napthoic acid (DHNA), which stimulates bifidus growth even at a very low concentration, and may inhibit undesirable bacteria. DHNA tolerates proteolytic enzymes and heat, allowing it to reach the large intestine where bifidobacteria mostly reside.
