Usnea barbata, also known as Old Man's Beard, is a lichen with a long history in herbal medicine. Recognizing its potential as an antibacterial agent, especially for respiratory infections, Supreme Nutrition has introduced it in tincture form.

This Supreme Nutrition tincture is extracted with organic cane alcohol. This is then boiled off to the extent possible without losing potency, and organic glycerin is added. This process differs from most tinctures on the market, which are extracted with non-organic grain-based alcohol (often from GMO corn ethanol) or solely with glycerin, resulting in a weaker product.

Usnea contains a number of active constituents, including those with antimicrobial, antioxidant, and polyphenolic properties. Research also indicates that Usnea can interfere with biofilm formation and quorum sensing.

10-30 drops 3 times per day.
